casidivino, modular wine racks, 2000

This wine rack is aimed at the typical wine amateur or collector who owns a cellar of around 50 to 1,500 bottles and who wants to conserve his wine in optimal conditions.

The smartness of casidivino lies in its modularity, both in width and in height. The units, 65cm wide and 32.5cm deep, can be combined freely as needed and, when they are side by side the shelves are continuous as if just a single unit.
One element, which measures 112.5cm covered with a board, stands at exactly standard bar height, to create a tasting corner in the cellar. Two stacked elements give 225cm of height, which is compatible with the majority of private cellars. You could even stack three elements, in the case of a wine shop, for instance, which then provides 3.38m of height for exhibiting wines.

One unit stocks at least 72 bottles, that is six packs of 12 bottles. When we stack two elements, this is then at least 144 bottles over a width of 65cm, which is very dense compared to other domestic wine racks on the market, and much better partitioned (each cell contains six or 12 bottles) than professional wine racks, which contain several dozens bottles per cell.

The dimensions of the cells have been matched to the biggest diameters of 75cl standard bottles, such as Bourgogne, Côtes du Rhône, etc. The lateral inclination of the shelves keeps each bottle stable, guaranteeing that all remain undisturbed while individual bottles are handled.

The wood used is rubberwood from China, which is not only attractive but also provides very good structural qualities and resistance to moisture and putrefaction, very important issues when high-value bottles are stocked. Obviously, the sanded finish is free from any synthetic varnish or solvent.

The design and the name casidivino have been internationally registered.
