Wilke's Finn dinghy, 1996

Who would have thought that there is still room for improvement in this much-explored class? In fact, everything could be advanced – in micro-steps maybe, but worth it nonetheless. From the hull lines to weight distribution, from the ergonomics to rationalisation of the construction, from the appendage profiles to the mast sections’ shape and structure. Unique to these high-modulus carbon-fibre wing masts is the "serial custom made" way they are built: you come with your longitudinal and lateral flex requirements, and the scantlings are specially adapted to fulfil your targets.

To date almost 600 masts have been delivered and more than good results have been achieved, with regular top five finishes in each main championship since Sydney 2000.

And a brand-new version of the whole boat is under development for Peking 2008: "Ma che cosa ne voi di più nella vita?"
