After topping the 70-boat fleet at the South American championship in November 2009, Flavio Marazzi and Enrico De Maria took second place in the Star world championship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in January 2010. Iain Percy finished first and Torben Grael third.

Note the running backstay attachments located aft of the helmsman, which allow the crew complete freedom of longitudinal positioning for optimum balance and also reduce the compression in the spar.

After taking the European title in 2007 and placing fifth at the 2008 Olympics in Qingdao – winning one of the 11 races – the Swiss duo of Flavio Marazzi and Enrico De Maria are another top team who have joined our Star ‘family’. Our latest recruits are Greek skipper Aimilios Papathanasiou and German Robert Stanjek who will sail Wilke Stars for the next major championships.
